Trump Likens Alexei Navalny’s Death To His Legal Battles In New Rant, Nikki Haley Slams Response

Following the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Donald Trump compared his passing in an Arctic prison to the legal woes that he is currently facing.

“The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our country. It is a slow, steady progression, with CROOKED, radical left politicians, prosecutors and judges leading us down a path to destruction,” he posted to Truth Social.

“Open borders, rigged elections and grossly unfair courtroom decisions are DESTROYING AMERICA. WE ARE A NATION IN DECLINE, A FAILING NATION! MAGA 2024,” Trump concluded.

Navalny’s death was announced by Russian authorities on Friday. Trump was criticized for not addressing the incident sooner, with Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley offering powerful words on the matter.

“It’s amazing to me how weak in the knees he is when it comes to Putin,” Haley told Fox & Friends before Trump’s post, “because you look at the fact, he is yet to say anything about Navalny’s death — which, [Vladimir] Putin murdered him.”

Haley also took this opportunity to address Trump’s comments about NATO earlier this month. The former president questioned whether he would defend allies who do not fulfill their financial obligations.

“We’re seeing all of these things happen, and Trump’s doing late-night rants about his court cases? He’s going to be in court for the rest of the year. We can’t be distracted,” she said.

Following Trump’s Truth Social post, Haley criticized him for drawing comparisons between Navalny’s death and his own legal struggles.

“Donald Trump could have condemned Vladimir Putin for being a murderous thug,” she wrote. “Trump could have praised Navalny’s courage. Instead, he stole a page from liberals’ playbook, denouncing America and comparing our country to Russia.”

Many officials, including President Joe Biden, have accused Putin of orchestrating Navalny’s death, as many of the Russian president’s adversaries have died under suspicious circumstances.
