A judge in the Bahamas declared a mistrial in the case against two people accused of trying to extort $25 million from John Travolta following the death of his son after a politician claimed that the deliberating jury had acquitted one of the defendants, Senator Pleasant Bridgewater.
Ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne and Bridgewater had been accused of planning to leak information about the death of Travolta's son Jett, 16. In a TV speech, a politician from Bridgewater's party claimed that she would be a "free woman." The judge ruled that this suggested an improper leak and declared a mistrial. (Photo: WENN)
