Forbes Magazine honored transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney by including her on its “30 Under 30 Social Media” list for being one of the most influential social media users in the world.
Mulvaney was listed alongside 29 other social media personalities who have shaped the “creator economy,” a “$250 billion industry estimated to roughly double over the next five years.”
She has used her TikTok platform to document her gender transition and struggles with the backlash that resulted from Bud Light making her a spokesperson last year.
“Our callout, Dylan Mulvaney, 26, is a creator, actress and LGBTQ+ activist who gained virality with her ‘Days of Girlhood’ series that documented her gender transition,” Forbes wrote, noting that the series “drew more than one billion views.”
Others on the “30 Under 30 Social Media” list include Alix Earle, Molly Burke, Alan Chikin Chow and Steven He.
Mulvaney has been at the center of several controversies this year. In April, after Bud Light honored her with her own beer can, conservative groups launched a boycott of the brand. Then, in October, Attitude magazine named her “Woman of the Year,” leading to further right-wing outrage.
