Many thought it was a "game change" all its own when Oscar-nominated Julianne Moore, 51, was asked to play Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO movie about the former Alaskan Governor's vice presidential campaign, instead of favored comedian and lookalike Tina Fey. But the new trailer for the movie Game Change is getting the same response across the Internet: Moore nailed it.
Moore had already mastered the look of the vice presidential hopeful-turned-reality star, but the trailer proved that The Kids Are All Right star has a good grasp of Palin's accent, too. The clip leads up to the moment of Moore-as-Palin's unveiling by showing strategy discussions between Senator John McCain, played by Ed Harris, and his campaign manager Steve Schmidt, played by Woody Harrelson. "We desperately need a game changing pick," Schmidt says. "And none of these middle-aged white guys are game changers."
"So find me a woman," Harris' McCain responds. Cut to Moore, giving the Palin speech that lauched her into fame/infamy: "I will be honored to accept your nomination for Vice President of the United States," she says, before the movie's title appears on the screen with a dramatic thud.
The film, which will debut on HBO in March 2012, is based on the bestselling book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.
