Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper, who was operating the 18-wheeler that allegedly struck the limo bus carrying Tracy Morgan last weekend, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to all charges levied at him in association with the accident.

Truck Driver Pleads Not Guilty In Tracy Morgan Crash

Roper was charged with one count of vehicular homicide and four counts of assault by auto for causing the accident near Cranbury Township on the New Jersey Turnpike in the early hours of Saturday morning. Through his attorney David Glassman, Roper entered a plea of not guilty to all charges, reported The Star-Ledger.

Following the accident on June 7, Roper turned himself in to authorities after learning he’d been charged. He was subsequently released on $50,000 bail.

The accident is under investigation by the New Jersey State Police and the National Transportation Safety Board. It’s been suggested that Roper, having not slept in over 24 hours, dozed at the wheel and neglected to see the traffic up ahead. Consequently, he rammed into the limo bus and caused a six-car-accident that resulted in the death of comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair.

Kevin Roper Has Twitter Rant

In the aftermath of the accident, Roper has taken to Twitter in an attempt to clear his name, making a point of stating that he was not inebriated via drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

Roper has also expressed his feeling that the only reason he was charged with crimes was because of the high-profile nature of the accident, and has also refuted the claim that he was up for a day prior to operating the truck.

Three Remain Hospitalized

Morgan, who starred on 30 Rock and was a main cast member on Saturday Night Live for several years, remains hospitalized at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., as he receives treatment for his various injuries. He is said to have suffered a broken leg, broken nose and several broken ribs in the crash. Comic Ardie Fuqua and Morgan’s assistant Jeffrey Millea remain in critical but stable condition. Harris Staton was injured as well, but has been released from the hospital.
