Miley Cyrus’s older brother Trace Cyrus, 28, released a song about his ex-fiancé and former Disney Channel star Brenda Song — titled “Brenda” — on Valentine’s Day.

Trace explained the song in a long Instagram post, saying Song had inspired many of his songs in the past.

“This is not the video I intended to release today,” Trace wrote. “But it seemed meant to be since I just got this video last night. I wrote this song last year in Nashville after Brenda & I broke up. Her and I have both moved on and I’m extremely happy for her. She inspired me to write countless songs and was such an important part of my life. I will always cherish songs I have like this one to remind me of our crazy 7 years together. When I wrote this song it was my final goodbye as we ended our relationship. I told myself after I wrote this song it would be my last song about Brenda and I’ve kept my word. Music like this is my therapy. Enjoy. 💕 Happy Valentine’s Day 💕 my first music video will be out on my birthday Feb 24th.”

The first few lyrics of the song read, “did I let you down when I wasn’t around?” He also sings about thinking their love deserved a second chance.

The chorus then directly addresses Song: “Brenda, I should have never left the West Coast. I lost you on the metro, smoke and mirrors got me losing my mind.”

The video currently has over 100,000 views. Song has not addressed it on her social media accounts.
