Tori Spelling Told Her Name ‘Sounds Poor’ By Convicted Scammer Anna Delvey After Their Elimination From ‘DWTS’

Tori Spelling posted a skit to Instagram titled “Reinventing Tori” in which fellow former Dancing with the Stars contestant Anna Delvey attempted to give her a make-over after their elimination from Dancing with the Stars.

Delvey and Spelling sat at a table for the skit, both in oversized sunglasses, Delvey disguised in a black hoodie and Spelling in a bright blue jacket and matching pants.

After Delvey confirmed that Spelling had been looking to reinvent herself, she point-blank suggested Spelling change her last name.

“Spelling?” Spelling questioned.

Delvey joked, “Tori… It sounds poor.”

Spelling asked what else she needed to change, but Delvey quipped, “Nothing.”

Delvey and Spelling were the first contestants eliminated in Dancing with the Stars, season 33, and became unlikely friends as a result. Spelling was paired with Pasha Pashkov and Delvey with Ezra Sosa.

In last Saturday’s episode of her misSpelling podcast, Spelling and Delvey reflected on their time on the show.

Spelling said, “There’s so many things dancing through my head right now, you guys, so many thoughts, so many feelings. I guess the big word is just ‘gratitude.’ Honestly, I loved every second of this experience. I’m not going to lie. Did I want to stay longer? Duh. The ballroom gave me such a new take on life and such joy that I wanted to keep going. I felt like I was just getting started.”

Delvey speculated on her downfall, “I think my focus was, ‘Oh, it’s a dancing competition so it, like, I have to perform like the steps because that’s how I’ve been trained.'” She explained that she was previously trained in classical ballet, where “nobody wants to see you smile” and added that she has a hard time showing emotion as she’s used to “always being on guard.”

Delvey’s inclusion in Dancing with the Stars was a highly debated topic, as Delvey’s claim to fame was pretending to be a German heiress and committing fraud against a variety of wealthy individuals and businesses.

She was ultimately convicted of grand larceny, and her prison sentence caused her to overstay her U.S. visa. Delvey had to get special permission from ICE to participate in the show, with the condition that she wear an ankle monitor during the show.

Despite her bedazzlement of the ankle monitor, she was eliminated on the same week that Spelling was.

Spelling was repeatedly attacked by trolls online for her skinny appearance on the show.
