Tori Spelling remains ex-husband Dean McDermott‘s biggest fan after their divorce. Spelling and McDermott married in 2004 and separated in 2024.

“Our family is so proud,” Spelling announced via her Instagram. “We need some levity right now. Watch @iamdeanmcdermott’s new movie Polar Opposites on Hallmark tonight.”

The post comes a week after Spelling and her children were forced to evacuate their Los Angeles home amidst the ongoing wildfires, which have consumed over 57,000 acres of land and killed at least 28 people. Many residents have fled their homes under mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders.

“The post I didn’t want to do. Days of watching destruction and monitoring and living in fear,” Spelling wrote on Instagram. “I haven’t posted or shared because social media was saturated [with] amazing kindness, sorrowful loss, helpful shares, and pleas. I didn’t want to be redundant. But last night, we were evacuated.”

She added, “I tried my best to hang in there and not just flee to flee, but we had to, finally. My hearts are with everyone who has lost and suffered so much. But, as a mama bear [with] five kiddos and fur babies, your gut tells you when it’s time to take action.”

“We are some of the lucky ones,” she added. “It looked and felt like a movie I’d seen too many times. We are safe. We woke up to a koi pond and a monarch sanctuary. Thanks, Dad!”

Spelling revealed on her social media that friends had warned her earlier about the growing wildfires, but she had hesitated to listen before escaping. Spelling and her family later took refuge at an Airbnb home.

Despite the wildfires, the family continues to support McDermott’s new film. It stars Rhiannon Fish and Markian Tarasiuk, an illustrator and an engineer, who work together to help Fish’s character’s ailing father, played by McDermott, as a researcher in the Arctic.

During their divorce, McDermott demanded that Spelling pay him spousal support. Spelling countered with her own demands.
