Tori Spelling Recalls Incident When She ‘Tried To Stab’ Her Brother During Emotional Spiral
Actress Tori Spelling has opened up about the harrowing night when her emotions spiraled out of control, which led to a disturbing outburst in which she tried to stab her brother, Randy.
“I think people from the outside perspective probably think there’s nothing relatable about our childhood,” Spelling, 51, said on the latest episode of her misSPELLING podcast on Aug. 13, with her brother as a guest. “We still had the sibling relationship, and we still had the fights, the fun times, all of it. There was the time I tried to stab you.”
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star recounted the moment when she “went bat s— f—ing crazy” and remembered, “I threw open the door, grabbed my crystal, King Arthur sword in the stone, pulled up my letter opener, and I ran out and tried to stab him.”
Spelling and Randy, 45, agreed that they were roughly 9 and 14 at the time of the incident. As Spelling reflected on the disturbed incident, she clarified that she “wasn’t going to stab him,” but the intensity of her actions had left an impression on her sibling. Randy, haunted by the behavior, noted that “something malfunctions, something takes over” when Spelling reaches the breaking point.
This outburst was not an isolated incident for the troubled actress. Spelling revealed that a similar fit of rage had occurred in the “final fight” with her ex-husband, Dean McDermott. In that altercation, she recalled, “I smashed my baked potato across the kitchen with inhuman strength,” an act that proved to be the final straw in their relationship.
The former spouses, who had been married for nearly 18 years and share five children, officially filed for divorce earlier this year, in tandem with Spelling’s previous claims that McDermott “had been drinking” at the time of the incident. In her podcast premiere, Spelling shared the disturbing details as she recounted how McDermott said, “Ugh, I’m so sick of this. I have been picking up Tori Spelling’s s— for 18 years.”
Spelling has had a rough year. After her divorce, she and her children were forced to move through a series of rental homes amid a bank filing for a $220,000 debt she shares with McDermott. In a recent episode of her podcast, Spelling shared that she has considered OnlyFans to pay for her children’s college tuition.
