Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott Being Sued By Bank For More Than $200K

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are being sued by City National Bank for failing to pay back about half of a $400k loan they took out in 2012.

The bank insists the famous couple still owe $188k on the loan they defaulted on, as well as another $17k that Spelling withdrew from her account. The lawsuit was filed Dec. 19. “As of December 2, 2016, Defendants owe Plaintiff an unpaid principal balance in the amount of $185,714.05, plus interest in the amount of $2,407.92 and late charges in the amount of $681.41, for a total of $188,803.38,” the lawsuit document reads. “These amounts remain due, owing and unpaid. Interest, attorney’s fees and costs continue to accrue.”

The couple had previously been sued for failing to pay credit card bills, and owed nearly $88k to American Express earlier this year. “It’s no mystery why I have money problems,” Spelling wrote in her memoir Spelling It Like It Is. “I grew up rich beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. I never knew anything else. Even when I try to embrace a simpler lifestyle, I can’t seem to let go of my expensive tastes. Even when my tastes aren’t fancy, they’re still costly. I moved houses to simplify my life, but lost almost a million dollars along the way.”

The couple famously had an affair on set of the 2005 Lifetime movie Mind Over Murder. They share four children together and are expecting another soon. Liam, 9, Stella, 8, Hattie, 5, and Finn, 4, will welcome a baby brother in a few months.

“So this is the first reveal,” Spelling said. “We really wanted to do it with the kids because they were so excited, and we wanted to do it as a family… It’s a tie-breaker, boys win,” she added, noting that there will now be four boys in the family compared to three girls. “We’re just going to have to have one more then.”

McDermott also has an 18-year-old son with his first wife Mary Jo Eustace.
