Nineties rock band Tool continues to rock in 2024.
The tour began last September, and after performing their last North American concert in February, they will be taking a break from the stage until May, when they head over to Germany to commence the European leg.
Joining them on the North American shows will be Elder, a progressive psychedelic rock band.
Frontman Maynard James Keenan made headlines last May for cross-dressing at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. His decision to dress in drag created speculation that he did so to go against Gov. Ron Desantis‘ (R-Florida) anti-drag bill.
Keenan denied those rumors, however, and told The Messenger that he had “been cross-dressing since long before these clickbait-junkie dupes were out of diapers.”
“It’s pretty crazy the technology and the prosthetics nowadays, how they’ve come along, and I just was considering bringing the look back,” he said. “And that’s really all there is to it. I’m not a political fella — had nothing to do with Florida.”
Formed in the 90s, Tool consists of frontman Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey and bassist Justin Chancellor. Since their formation, they have released five albums, with Fear Inoculum being the most recently released.
