After people online called his behavior “condescending” during a recent red-carpet interview, Tony Danza has apologized. Some fans called it ‘the rudest interview ever.”
You can see the interview with reporter Rye Myers below, where Danze told the correspondent he “needed to ask better questions.”
The video was taken on the opening night of New York, New York on Broadway.
In his TikTok post, Myers called out the actor for his conduct, stating that he could have passed on the interview if he did not want to answer any questions.
He wrote in the caption, “To say I was blown away, shocked and embarrassed is an understatement… But, my professionalism showed through!”

In defense of his light-hearted interview questions, Myers said in the comments section that he asked “New York City-themed questions” given the location of where the musical takes place.
The interview went viral with many users showing their support for Myers while others criticized Danza for touching Myers’ face.
This incident recalls how actor Hugh Grant‘s dismissive responses to Ashley Graham‘s questions on the Oscars red carpet in March were also received poorly by viewers.
Myers later gave an update on TikTok, saying that Danza had apologized to him.
“He called me to apologize and squash the beef. It was great to hear from him and certainly much appreciated,” he said.
He then thanked his followers for their support, calling the reaction “insane.”
