Nominations for the 2017 Tony Awards were revealed today, with Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 receiving the most with 12.
The play is up for Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction, and nods for the two leads, Josh Groban and Denée Benton. The other contenders for Best Musical are Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, and Groundhog Day.
Close behind with 10 nominations was the revival of Hello, Dolly!, including for Best Revival of a Musical, plus all four performance categories (Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Featured Actor, and Featured Actress).
For dramatic plays, Lucas Hnath‘s A Doll’s House, Part 2 received the most nods with eight, including Best Play and all four performance categories. The other titles up for Best Play are Indecent, Oslo, and Sweat, which has won the Pulitzer Prize.
The 71st Annual Tony Awards will take place at Radio City Music Hall on June 11, and will be hosted by the ever-talented Kevin Spacey.
