Tomi Lahren Sues Glenn Beck For Wrongful Termination

Right-wing commentator Tomi Lahren is suing Glenn Beck for alleged wrongful termination.

The lawsuit was filed in Dallas County on Friday. Lahren claims that her show was wrongly canceled by The Blaze following her remarks in support of abortion rights on The View.

The suit states that Lahren was “understandably disappointed, saddened and in shock for being suspended for freely expressing her opinions, which certainly reconcile with what is the law of the land in the United States i.e., a woman’s constitutional right to choose and in no way inconsistent with any of [Lahren’s] obligations under the Employment Contract.”

The Blaze wanted to keep paying Lahren, the suit says, “presumably hoping they could find an exit strategy to sanitize their unlawful conduct” in breaking Lahren’s two-year employment contract, which was to continue through Sept. 30.

However, Lahren decided to take legal action. She said on Twitter that “lay down and play dead really isn’t my style”.

The Blaze, which is based in Irving, Tex., said Friday that Lahren had not been terminated.

“It is puzzling that an employee who remains under contract (and is still being paid) has sued us for being fired, especially when we continue to comply fully with the terms of our agreement with her,” a Blaze spokesman said.

Beck in the past has called Lahren “intellectually dishonest” for being a libertarian and supporting Donald Trump‘s executive orders.

Lahren’s bosses allegedly ordered her to “go dark” and stay silent on social media, the suit says, adding that Facebook page is not The Blaze’s property. Lahren hasn’t posted to her Facebook page since March 19.

The Blaze terminated Lahren’s work email account, according to the lawsuit. Supervisors cut off communication with Lahren, said her lawyer, Brian Lauten.

The suit asks that Lahren receive a temporary restraining order protecting her right to freely express her views and stop The Blaze from destroying evidence related to the incident.

According to the report, Lahren is also asking for for attorneys’ fees and costs in addition to other relief “which she may show herself justly entitled.”
