Tom Hiddleston “Too Smug And Not Tough Enough” To Be Next James Bond Actor
Tom Hiddleston has been deemed unfit to be the next actor to portray the famed and fictional British spy James Bond.
TOM HIDDLESTON NOT TO PLAY JAMES BOND
Producer Barbara Broccoli had been considering Hiddleston for the role, despite not being a big fan. “He’s a bit too smug and not tough enough to play James Bond,” she said. She also shared her distaste for the much-publicized romance the actor shared with Taylor Swift.
While that out-of-the-blue relationship was criticized by many, he attracted more criticism following his self-aggrandizing speech at this year’s Golden Globes. His speech began as a tribute to humanitarian workers, but ended in a self-righteous manner, which rubbed Broccoli the wrong way.
After Daniel Craig infamously stated he would “rather slit my wrists” than have anything to do with the James Bond franchise, Broccoli is still trying to convince him to come back. Sony offered the actor $150 million to return, and Craig was enthralled. He had been working in an off-Broadway production of Othello, but as they gained success, he seemed more into the idea of playing 007.
If Craig does reprise the role, he will become the actor to play Bond for the second longest amount of time after Roger Moore. Moore was Bond for 12 years over seven movies, and Craig has starred in four so far since 2005.
