Tom Hardy was spotted Wednesday filming scenes for his forthcoming film Legend, in which he plays a pair of gangster twins.
In Legend, Hardy is taking on the roles of the two Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie, who were successful gangsters in London during the 50s and 60s before falling from power and landing in prison. The feature is based on John Pearson’s book about their rise and fall – The Profession of Violence.
During their heyday, the Kray twins, who ran “The Firm,” were the biggest people in organized crime in the East End of London. Among their criminal activities were arson, armed robberies, assaults and murders. Their main front business was a West End nightclub, which attracted celebrities like Frank Sinatra as well as politicians.
Along with Hardy, Legend stars Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, Tara Fitzgerald and Taron Egerton. Brian Helgeland, who is helming the picture, also adapted the film’s screenplay from Pearson’s book.
In addition to Legend, Hardy has several other films in production, including The Drop, Child 44, London Road, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant.
