Tom Cruise Rents Cruise Ship For $670,000 To Keep ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Filming During COVID-19

Tom Cruise is not willing to stop filming any time soon. The actor spent $670,000 to hire a cruise ship to keep the cast and crew of Mission: Impossible 7 safe from COVID-19 while filming in Norway.

Since the start of the pandemic, Hollywood has had to prioritize social distancing and other safety measures over filming schedules. The team had to receive special permission to even film in Norway since most other foreign visitors are banned.

Cruise took social distancing measures to new lengths in order to continue filming as scheduled. The ship allows the cast and crew of the movie to stay away from land as much as possible. The crew also has to undergo daily testing to make sure no cases of the virus spread.

Mission: Impossible 7 is rumored to be the second-to-last film in the Mission: Impossible franchise, which would explain why Cruise didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond for his swan song as Ethan Hunt. In fact, last week, images from the set showed the actor pulling off an intense motorcycle stunt, 500 feet in the air.

Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled to arrive in theaters Nov. 19, 2021, while Mission: Impossible 8 is set to release on Nov. 4, 2022.
