As part of his sponsorship deal with Under Armour, Tom Brady traveled around China and Japan last week promoting new Under Armour products, his own personal brand, and football at-large.
The tour began on June 18 in Beijing, continued in Shanghai on June 20, and finished in Tokyo on June 22. Along the way, Brady managed to snap a few photos of him and his son taking in the cultures he visited along the way.
One of Brady’s first stops took him to the Great Wall of China, where he did what he does best, with his son standing beside him.
Brady, who is 6’4 and 225 pounds, was dwarfed by several sumo wrestlers while on the trip, as well. His son, who is only seven-years-old, didn’t fare much better.
While Brady didn’t appear to fight any of the wrestlers, he did square off against his son, even if only for the photo.
The tour was focused on a new product line from Under Armour called the “UA Athlete Recovery Sleepwear powered by TB12.” The sleepwear, inspired by Brady, is designed to help athletes’ bodies recover during sleep, in addition to helping them get better rest by using “bioceramic” technology. Under Armour and Brady also saw it as an opportunity to connect with Chinese and Japanese fans who don’t often get to interact with football players.
“I am excited about the opportunity to be able to connect with the people in China and Japan, experience the incredible culture, and share my love for the game with my fans,” Brady said as part of an Under Armour press release about the event. “I hope to learn more about the next generation of athletes in Asia and to inspire them to always push boundaries through hard work, dedication, humility, and perseverance both on and off the field.”
