Titus Young, a former Detroit Lions wide receiver, was arrested on Friday night for the third time this week, according to police.
On Friday, Young was arrested in San Clemente, Calif., according to Lt. Joe Balicki, the spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, When police attempted to apprehend Young, the former NFL player fled the scene in an effort to evade law enforcement, according to Balicki.
Young was eventually charged with attempted burglary, assault of a police officer and resisting arrest. He is currently still in custody; his bail is set at $75,000. Young’s first arrest of the week was last Sunday morning when he was suspected of drinking under the influence of alcohol. When he tried to remove the vehicle he had been driving from a tow yard later that same day, he was once again arrested.
It was ultimately Young’s notorious insubordinate behavior that led up to the Lions’ decision to release him in February. He had been drafted by the Detroit football team in 2011.
