Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are reuniting on the big screen for the first time since 2008’s Baby Mama in their upcoming comedy The Nest.
Poehler and Fey have shared the spotlight countless times before, most recently when they returned to host the Golden Globes for a second time, but have only co-starred in films twice before. Fey and Poehler both had secondary roles in Mean Girls (2004) and played a mismatched pair in Baby Mama (2008). The two also made a cameo appearance in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013). On the small screen, Poehler and Fey have been appearing side by side since their days at Saturday Night Live.
The Nest may be their most exciting collaboration yet. Fey and Poehler will play sisters who decide to throw a huge party in their childhood home before their parents sell it. The script comes from screenwriter Paula Pell who has worked as a writer on Saturday Night Live for over a decade. Jason Moore, director of the surprise hit Pitch Perfect (2012), will direct.
