Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow paid professional boxer Manny Pacquiao a visit at his training camp in Los Angeles over the weekend.
It was the first meeting between Tebow and Pacquiao on Sunday, who were both born in the Philippines – Tebow because his parents were doing missionary work in the country – and are devout Christians.
“Awesome being with my Filipino and Christian brother @emmanuelpacquiao #inspiration,” Tebow captioned a picture with the boxer.
Pacquiao captioned an Instagram snap of his own, “Good to be with my brother in Christ @TimTebow.”
Freddie Roach, who trains Pacquiao, was happy to see the athletes befriending one another. “Tim Tebow is a great competitor, a standup guy who embraces his responsibility for being a good role model,” Roach told the Star-Ledger. “He and Manny shared a lot yesterday. It was terrific.”
Pacquiao is currently preparing for his legendary fight against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather, while Tebow is still trying to get back into the NFL, training with the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
