Tim Peake, the British astronaut, has been in space since December but took some time to pay tribute to the late David Bowie from space.
Peake tweeted, “Saddened to hear David Bowie has lost his battle with cancer – his music was an inspiration to many.”
Known for his fascination with space, Bowie appreciated Hadfield’s cover of his famous 1969 hit, “Space Oddity.” Speaking at the time, Bowie called it “the most poignant version of the song ever created.”
