Tila Tequila Defends Her Use Of The N-Word
Former reality star Tila Tequila has taken to Twitter to defend her “right” to use the n-word, naming hip-hop stars (namely, Nicki Minaj) as giving her the right. The Twitter tirade is in response to those calling her out for using the N-word on many occasions.
“Someone I know who’s obviously NOT from Houston told me I need 2 stop saying the N-word. Well, if u want to change, then stop saying it in songs,” she said. “You can’t expect people of all races 2 listen to popular music and not have the N-word embedded into their heads…..but that’s my opinion. Example: Nicki Minaj has a song where she says “N***a” over 100 times & has violent gun visuals 2 the music vid! What outcome did u expect?”
Tila went on to continue to blame the music industry as a whole, calling out their “crappy songs,” which “activate certain responses in people who are unaware.” She completely pushes away the responsibility for her actions, tweeting, “It’s the soundwaves blasting into the SUBCONSCIOUS area of ppl’s brain is where it gets tricky.”
The next morning, in response to the backlash, she tweeted, “Are black people still mad at me?”
Although the rant was tweeted last Tuesday, Tila is still continuing to respond to her critics.
