Donald Trump‘s only daughter with Marla Maples, Tiffany Trump, is reportedly registered to vote in both New York and Pennsylvania.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway has attempted to disprove this fact. “I talked last night to Tiffany Trump, and she said it is flatly false that she is registered in two states,” Conway told reporters. She recalled that Tiffany registered in New York earlier in 2016 so she could vote in the primaries.
Tiffany went to the University of Pennsylvania until she graduated last May and was registered there as well. “She had been registered in Pennsylvania and went through the process, said it was very byzantine, and took a long time, but she said she is not registered in two states,” continued Conway.
But as voter information is public and reporters have found Tiffany’s active voter registrations online for the two states. “Double-checked on this: Tiffany Trump is, in fact, registered in PA & NY, per elex officials & state elections websites,” wrote Peter Alexander of NBC News on Twitter.
A similar scandal has erupted about Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist. He was registered to vote in both New York and Florida up until last Wednesday, according to local election officials. “I can guarantee, he didn’t vote in two states,” Conway said, though admitted she had not spoken to Bannon about the issue.
All of this comes amid Trump’s claims that millions of illegal immigrants voted for Hillary Clinton. The president has, on multiple occasions, been unable to give any substantiated evidence to this claim, which experts have deemed false.
