Tiffany Haddish Confesses She Used To Sell Fake Halle Berry Underwear To Fund Early Career
Comedian Tiffany Haddish recently disclosed an unconventional method she once used to earn money before achieving stardom in Hollywood.
During a July 29 appearance on Nick Cannon’s We Playin’ Spades podcast, Haddish, 44, shared that she previously posed as a housekeeper for Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry and attempted to sell what she claimed were Berry’s used undergarments online.
“I would pretend my name was Rosalinda and say I worked for Halle Berry,” Haddish explained. “Then I’d offer to sell her supposedly dirty underwear.” The Girls Trip star added that she would post these offers on Craigslist, typically earning around $300 per transaction.
Haddish’s revelation came during a casual conversation with podcast host Cannon, 43, and fellow guests. The actress emphasized that this scheme occurred during a period of financial struggle before her rise to fame.
Since then, Haddish has found success through legitimate means in the entertainment industry. Her career now spans movies, television shows, books, and comedy specials. Most recently, she has ventured into music, releasing a single titled “Woman Up” in June.
This is not the first time Haddish has been candid about her pre-fame hardships. In a 2018, Vanity Fair interview, she recounted a period of homelessness when she lived in her car. During this time, fellow comedian Kevin Hart, whom she knew from their joint performances in a sketch comedy show, lent her $300 for temporary housing and advised her to set clear career goals.
Haddish did not mention whether Berry was ever aware of the unauthorized use of her name in the underwear-selling scheme.
Last November, Haddish was arrested for the second time a DUI.
