This year’s Billboard Music Award (BBMAs) took place on Sunday in the Microsoft Theatre in Loss Angeles and was hosted by Nick Jonas.

The awards are given to artists who have achieved the greatest success on the Billboard charts from March 2020 through April 2021.

The Weeknd was nominated in a total of 16 categories on Sunday and took home 10 trophies, including the Top Artist award. The artist also won awards for being Top 100 Artist and Top Hot 100 Song for “Blinding Lights.”

BTS performed their song “Butter” at the award show and also won several awards. The band took home every trophy they were nominated for. They won Top Duo/Group, Top Social Artist and – because of their hit “Dynamite,” Top Selling Song.

Bad Bunny took four awards home with him, winning the Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, Top Latin Album and Top Latin Song awards.

Pop Smoke, who died in 2020, received posthumous recognition. He was a finalist in 10 categories and won five awards, including Top Billboard 200 Album, which his mother Audrey Jackson accepted on his behalf.

Pink took home an icon award, which was presented by her childhood crush Jon Bon Jovi. Pink performed some of her most popular songs, including “Just Like a Pill,” “Get the Party Started” and “So What.” She also performed her new song “Cover Me in Sunshine,” alongside her daughter Willow.

Trae Tha Truth took home the Change Maker Award, and Drake was awarded with Artist of the Decade.

Earlier in the day, there was a Billboard Music Award Instagram Live hosted by Matthew Hoffman, where The Weeknd won seven awards in that ceremony for Top Male Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top R&B Artist and Top Radio Song.

During the Instagram Live, Pop Smoke won Top Rap Artist and Top Rap Album.

Country singer Morgan Wallen was a finalist in six categories and won Top Country Album, Top Country Artist and Top Male Artist. His use of racial slurs earlier this year prevented him to make an appearance at this year’s BBMAs.
