‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6, Episode 6 Recap: Daryl, Abraham & Sasha Try To Get Back To Alexandria In ‘Always Accountable’

The Walking Dead “Always Accountable,” still set on the day Rick (Andrew Lincoln) tried to organize a mission to get a horde of zombies far away from Alexandria, focused on Daryl, Sasha and Abraham’s journey back to the community.

The Walking Dead Season 6, Episode 6 Recap

Twenty miles out from Alexandria, Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) work is done evacuating the zombies. Before they can make their way back, however, they’re ambushed by a heavily-armed group of Wolves. In the encounter, Daryl is separated from Sasha and Abraham. He ultimately crashes his bike, and the other two crash their car.

Daryl, wounded, walks his bike into a nearby forest that had been burnt to the ground, and is covered with the charred bodies of walkers. In the wooded area, he meets sisters Tina and Honey. Momentarily distracted, Daryl gets struck on the back of the head and knocked out. When Daryl begins to regain consciousness, the man, named D, pins him as one of the Wolves. Daryl’s efforts to convince them that he’s not who they believe he is prove fruitless.

The following morning, still unable to convince D of his identity, Daryl is marched from the woods by his captors, who are on a mission to find “Patty.” Unfortunately for D, when they arrive at the parking lot where they expected to find Patty, they find it overrun with walkers. Daryl uses the moment to make his escape, grabbing their duffel bag in the process. Along with his crossbow, the duffel contains Tina’s insulin.

Daryl decides to return the insulin to Tina in exchange for their gun and the wooden figurine D had carved. The trade is interrupted when Wade, the leader of the group D had fled, pulls up in a truck asking for Tina and Honey. Dary helps them evade Wade, who decides not to pursue them further after one of his men takes a walker bite to the arm.

Now that Daryl has earned the trust of the trio, they walk through the woods with him. Eventually, they come to a melted greenhouse in which Tina spots the bodies of two people she once knew. She approaches the glass to put down flowers, inadvertently causing the corpses to reanimate, break through the glass and kill her. After Daryl kills the walkers, he helps D dig a grave for Tina. He then asks D Rick’s three questions: How many walkers he’s killed, how many people he’s killed and why. Upon hearing D’s answers, Daryl invites him and Honey to come with him to Alexandria. Instead of taking him up on the offer, they steal his motorcycle and crossbow and peel off.

Meanwhile, Sasha and Abraham have decided that their best bet will be to find somewhere to stay put until Daryl, a skilled tracker, can find them. They end up setting up inside an office building. Though Abraham is inclined to slay any and all walkers in their path, Sasha urges him to show restraint. If the group that attacked them see freshly slain walkers, they’ll know that people can’t be too far off.

After a night standing watch at the office building, Abraham goes off and finds an abandoned military vehicle filled with RPGs. Not far off from the vehicle, he sees the RPG launcher – which is strapped to the back of a walker impaled on a bridge fence. In an effort to grab the launcher while keeping the walker alive, Abraham nearly meets his end. Giving up, he returns to the military vehicle. Looking back towards the launcher, he watches as the fence works its way through the zombie, forcing it to fall through the fence, leaving the launcher behind. Abraham grabs his new weapon before going back to Sasha.

At the office, Abraham tells Sasha that she was right about how they have to be accountable for their actions, including recklessly killing walkers. He also confesses that he’d like to get to know her better. She doesn’t deny her own feelings, but says that he has some stuff to deal with before anything can come of it.

It’s not long before Abraham and Sasha are picked up by Daryl, who found a fuel truck in the woods – with a license plate that reads “Patty.” Finally, they’re on their way back together. All seems settled until a voice on the radio calls out “Help.” Was it Glenn (Stephen Yeun)?
