‘The Voice’ Recap: Blind Auditions Night Two – Emily Keener, Kata Hay And Joe Vivona Shine

On the second night of the Blind Auditions, the judges pick from another round of hopefuls. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell and Christina Aguilera pushed their buttons, battled it out and picked their teams.

First to audition was Joe Vivona with his version of John Mayer‘s “Dreaming With A Broken Heart.” Vivona’s soulful rendition of the song earned him a turn from Levine, Shelton, and Pharell. The judges battled it out and Vivona ultimately picked Team Pharrell.

Next up was 15-year-old Shalyah Fearing who belted out “What Is Love” and got a turn from Aguilera. By default, she joined her team.

Adam Wakefield was next, clad with his guitar and cowboy hat, the singer sang his bluesy version of “Tennessee Whiskey” and earned himself turns from Levine and Shelton. The judges battled it out for Wakefield and the singer picked Shelton.

Next up was Carolina Burns who auditioned in Season 9 but didn’t receive any turns. She sang Carole King’s “So Far Away” and snagged a turn from Levine and Shelton. The two battled it out again for Burns’ pick and she decided to join Levine’s team.

Up next was Scottish singer-songwriter Natalie Clark but she failed to grab any of the judges’ attention.

Next was Emily Keener with her version of Elton John‘s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” The 15-year-old instantly grabbed all four judges’ attentions and all four hit their buttons. The judges battled over the pick of Keener but after a passionate filled speech from Pharrell, he was her choice

Next was Laith Al-Saadi with his electric guitar and his version of “The Letter.” He earned turns from Levine and Shelton and ultimately picked Levine due to his “rocker at heart” attitude.

Angie Keilhauer was next and sang Dierks Berkley‘s “I Hold On.” With her guitar and confidence, she was able to get turns from Shelton, Levine and Pharrell. “You have so much control,” Pharrell said. “You kept getting better and better as the performance went on,” Levine added. But Keilhauer decided to join Shelton.

Next was Theron Early who sang “Amazed” by Lonestar but wasn’t able to seal the deal and didn’t snag any turns from the judges.

Last to perform was firecracker, Kata Hay with her energetic version of “Redneck Woman.” She grabbed turns of Levine, Aguilera and Pharrell. After getting her turns, she excitedly rushed off stage to hug all four judges. She decided to join Team Christina.

The Blind Auditions continue next week.
