Proving that America really does have a taste for megalomaniacal computer geek billionaires, The Social Network maintained its number one position on top of the weekend box office, taking in $15.5 million. The David Fincher-directed movie about Facebook experienced only a 31 percent drop in gross from its opening weekend.
Newcomer Life As We Know It, the romantic comedy starring Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl about two acquaintances who are forced to raise a child together after their best friends die, made $14.6 million in its first weekend out. Other new movies had less stellar performances. Disney's inspirational horse film Secretariat, starring Diane Lane and John Malkovich, made $12.6 million while Wes Craven's latest horror flick My Soul To Take slid in at number five, grossing $6.9 million for the weekend.
