‘The Queen’s Gambit’ Star Anya Taylor-Joy Marries Musician Malcolm McRae In Venice

Anya Taylor-Joy, the 27-year-old actress best known for her role in The Queen’s Gambit, has just tied the knot with 29-year-old singer and musician Malcolm McRae in Venice, Italy.

According to the Daily Mail, who caught the event on camera, the couple exchanged their vows at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta, a popular historic venue, and celebrated with their close friends and relatives. Among the guests were familiar names such as Cara Delevingne, Nicholas Hoult, Julia Garner, Evan Ross and more.

They also reportedly had Bollywood star Ranveer Singh sing at their wedding. He sang covers of American singer Sufjan Stevens‘ newest record, Javelin.

Photographs captured Taylor-Joy’s custom-made Dior floral gown, an embroidered beige dress and a long veil. The dress also distinctly had a bird on the top half of her dress. She was seen posing on a balcony.

She also reportedly had a second look and wore a white, shorter dress with a corseted top.

The actress has known McRae for just over two years after meeting him in March of 2021 during The Queen’s Gambit premiere.

Only two days after meeting, McRae wrote a romantic song for the actress, “Really Want to See You Again,” which he shared on Instagram. Afterward, he shared the full song on YouTube.

After a month, Taylor-Joy referred to McRae as her “partner” for the first time on Elle.

Since then, the pair have remained mostly private about their relationship; after a year, they made their first public appearance as a couple. It happened at the CAA Pre-Oscar Party and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. McRae even shared a photo on Instagram of the two of them on May 29.

Taylor-Joy has also spoken about their relationship, saying she feels comfortable around him and that he is like her “hobby.” They have said they enjoy spending time together, reading silently and share a similar mindset.
