What was filmed as the exterior of The Brady Bunch home is now on the market for $1.85 million. However, potential buyers reportedly include property developers who may seek to demolish the house.
It’s the second most photographed home in the United States with the exception of the White House, according to the property listing. The house has two bedrooms, three bathrooms and two master suites, located at 11222 Dilling Street in Studio City, Calif.
It’s situated on about a third of an acre and spans 2477 square feet. It hasn’t been on the market for 45 years, which was when the current owners bought it in 1973, according to Deadline.
Though The Brady Bunch was never filmed inside the house, the homeowners reportedly want the buyers to preserve the home.
“I have several buyers already interested,” said Jodie Levitus Francisco, a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway. “They’re developers for the lot size. They might tear down, but the listing agent said the family was hoping to get someone to preserve the house, and at $1.85, I don’t know if a developer would pay that much.”
The Brady Bunch never topped rating charts or made a splash with critics, but its frequent reruns kept the Brady family relevant, thus inspiring spinoffs, reunion movies and stage plays.
