Chace Crawford may play a villainous superhero on screen, but in real life, he’s fighting for good.
Crawford, who plays the narcissistic Deep on Amazon Prime’s The Boys, took part in the 38th annual Malibu Triathlon this weekend.
The triathlon, an endurance test on swimming, biking and running, was formed to support the Pediatric Cancer Research Programs at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
The cause is close to Crawford’s heart, as he told The Messenger that his grandfather had cancer and that it’s “heartbreaking and uplifting to hear the stories.”
“It was nice to always go and meet the kids and see everything,” Crawford said. “It’s just a really, really important cause, and they do great work here.”
According to Malibu’s Chamber of Commerce website, Crawford is not the only celebrity it has attracted. In the past years, they have welcomed Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Lopez, Zac Efron, Jennifer Garner, Felicity Huffman, Minnie Driver, Will Ferrell and Robin Williams, among others.
