Former Bachelor star Shayne Lamas announced on Instagram this week that she and her husband, Hooman Karamian, better known as Nik Richie, are getting a divorce.
“Friends & Family, after 11 years together Nik and I have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce, we have nothing but love and respect for one another and will cherish the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of,” she wrote in the caption. “This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate our new normal within our family.”
Lamas and Richie got married in 2010, two years after Lamas won season 12 of The Bachelor. Lamas was engaged to Matt Grant the then Bachelor for a few months, before deciding to end that relationship.
The couple share two children, a daughter Press and a son Lyon. The last photo Lamas posted of the whole family was after the Fourth of July.
Lamas dealt with a miscarriage and issues with infertility in 2014. After finding out she couldn’t have any more children, she turned to her stepmother Shawna Craig as a surrogate.
“I’m not the best person in the world, but I love my wife and my family,” Richie wrote on his blog at the time his son was born. “Shayne is my good person. She is my support and my smile. I found you and I never want to let you go. We will overcome.”
