The Bachelorette took a break from the dates on Sunday for the “Men Tell All” special in which Andi Dorfman’s suitors dished about their season on the dating show.
After Chris Harrison introduced Bachelor Nation couple Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum, who revealed they’re expecting a baby boy together, the erstwhile contestants hit the stage in scarves – which seemed to be an accidental motif of the season. Harrison then segued into a montage of some of the guys’ worst moments, including Craig ramming Patrick into a stove and the “blackie” controversy. When Harrison gave Andrew the floor to address the incident, he mistakenly thinks it was Ron – not Marquel – who’d calmly confronted him about it during the season. The mistaken identity receives appropriately incredulous reactions.
Once in the hot seat, Marquel is interrogated about why sparks never flew between Andi and him. Though he was a fan favorite, Andi seemed to see Marquel as more of a friend. Marquel admits that had he known that other guys were moving faster and kissing the bachelorette, he would have made a stronger move. In any case, Marquel is following up his Bachelorette run on the forthcoming Bachelor in Paradise.
Also joining Marquel on Bachelor in Paradise is Marcus, who was next in the hot seat. Clearly, the lovelorn Marcus is still hung on Andi and tears up as Harrison fires questions at him. Chris, meanwhile, didn’t seem all that surprised that Andi decided to say goodbye to him. After all, he admits, he’s a famer in rural Iowa, where the Atlanta-based former assistant district attorney wasn’t likely to want to move.
After a woman in the audience makes a play for Chris, it’s Andi’s turn to come face-to-face with her spurned former suitors. In a rather matter-of-fact way, Andi reveals why she said goodbye to all the men sitting before her. Basically, she just wasn’t that into them for one reason or another. When it comes to the lie detector results, she’s not eager to know what the men lied about. And though she has to hear that Dylan wasn’t actually ready for marriage, she was able to keep Harrison from revealing the two lies Josh told.
When The Bachelorette returns next week, Andi will introduce Josh and Nick to her family.
