Monday’s two-hour season finale of The Bachelorette saw Becca Kufrin finally make her choice between Garrett Yrigoyen and Blake Horstmann. Becca spent the episode agonizing over the seemingly impossible decision of which man — both of whom she loves — she will spend the rest of her life with. While initially more confident in a future with Blake, Becca later came to realize that Garrett also has so much to offer.

Becca had kind words for both finalists. ““Blake, since week one, has been the most consistent relationship and the strongest,” Becca said. “There’s just this pull to him. I feel like our hearts just recognize one another. Because of that, I always thought he’d be the one at the end of this. It seems that Becca fell for Blake quickly, whereas her feelings for Garrett took some more time to come about. “With Garrett, it’s been a little bit slower,” she said. “But I started to see so much more to him and so many other sides that I really felt could fit into my life. And it’s been growing and growing.”
Blake showed himself to be incredibly romantic on his final date with Becca. He presented her with a box of photos and mementos of their time together. While Becca was thrilled with the sweet gift, Garrett obviously impressed her more on their final date. Garrett told Becca that he could picture a future together where even mundane events like changing diapers and trips to the grocery store would be thrilling as long as they’re with each other. Then, Garrett gave her a profession that was much more romantic than a time capsule: I know that you’re the person that I need in my life to make me be a better version of myself every day but I want to make sure that I’m the person that does that to you as well. So when you make that decision, I’m willing to be absolutely crushed at the end of this, even if it isn’t me, just as long as you’re happy.” Becca pointed out that Garrett reminded her of her late father in that he makes her feel at home.

Garrett’s tender declaration seemed to put things into focus for Becca when the time came to give the final rose. While Becca didn’t want to hurt Blake, she had to tell him that he was not her choice. Blake, in great contrast to Garrett’s attitude, told her that she was making a mistake. Becca and Blake said a tearful goodbye. When Becca met with Garrett, she was finally able to meet a declaration of love with her own. She told Garrett that he had made an impression on her at the very beginning, even if she wasn’t able to see it at first. She wanted to be “1000 percent certain” before telling Garrett that he is the one for her. The couple are now happily engaged.
