The fifth installment in the hit science-fiction Terminator franchise has officially been titled Terminator Genisys.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is reprising his role as the eponymous robot, announced the title via Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday.
Along with the picture, Schwarzenegger wrote, “Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenysis for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you.”
"I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator,” the actor added.
In addition to Schwarzenegger, the cast of Terminator Genisys includes Games of Thrones star Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, The Chicago Code’s Jason Clarke as John Connor and Divergent’s Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. Alan Taylor directed the film from a screenplay written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, who used the characters created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd for the original films.
Terminator: Genisys is slated to hit theaters July 1, 2015.
Like Father Like Son will be released in theaters on January 31, 2025.
