Teresa Giudice, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star who is currently serving a 15-month sentence behind bars for tax fraud, claims that she was shaken down in prison.
Back in June, guards suspected that Giudice may have been hiding a contraband cell phone after her daughter Gia, 14, sent out a tweet from her account thanking her fans for their support.
“I got shaken down,” Giudice told her husband Joe Giudice in a preview of next week’s Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In that Andy Cohen showed on Watch What Happens Live.
While Giudice is granted unlimited access to her email and limited phone time, those imprisoned at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut do not have access to the Internet.
The reality TV star’s husband once quipped that the institution is like a “low-budget” spa, but her attorney James J. Leonard, Jr., has since given a slightly different view of her conditions.
“This is not a country club, this is not a day in the park for her, you know,” Leonard said. “She’s in prison.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In airs Sundays on Bravo at 8/7c.
