In an unusual blend of sports and condiments, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has teamed up with Hellmann’s to release a mayonnaise-scented cologne.
The fragrance, dubbed “Will Levis No. 8” after the player’s jersey number, marks a unique entry in the world of athlete endorsements. Priced at $8 per bottle, the limited-edition scent quickly sold out upon its initial release.
Hellmann’s confirmed the authenticity of the partnership, dispelling speculation that it might be a prank. The company describes the fragrance as a complex blend of lemon, parsley, coffee, musk and vanilla.
A promotional video for the cologne features Levis interacting with mayonnaise in various ways, including smelling it directly from the jar and consuming it on bread. The ad’s voiceover suggests the scent embodies personal empowerment, proclaiming, “Smell like greatness.”
This collaboration stems from Levis’ well-known affinity for mayonnaise. The 25-year-old quarterback previously made headlines for adding the condiment to his coffee, a habit that caught Hellmann’s attention. In August 2023, the company offered Levis a lifetime supply of mayonnaise.
Levis, entering his second NFL season, started nine games for the Titans in his rookie year. He finished with a 3-6 record, throwing for 1,808 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Titans are set to kick off their 2024 season against the Chicago Bears on September 8.
Hellmann’s has announced plans to restock the fragrance, indicating ongoing demand for this quirky collaboration between the world of professional football and condiments.
