Ted Cruz Pulls Ad Featuring Amy Lindsay, Softcore Porn Actress

Amy Lindsay, a softcore porn actress, appeared in a Ted Cruz ad that the presidential candidate has since taken off the air.

Ted Cruz Ad Features Soft Porn Star Amy Lindsay

Lindsay was one of several actors who appeared in a Marco Rubio attack ad put out by Cruz’s campaign. In the erstwhile commercial spot, Lindsay and others are in a group therapy session of sorts – “Conservatives Anonymous” – talking about why they regret having voted for Rubio. “Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,” Lindsay said in the ad.

In light of the revelation that Lindsay once had a career in the adult film industry, the Cruz campaign has nixed the ad.

“The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company,” reads a statement from the campaign. “Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial.”

Lindsay, who has numerous softcore porn credits as well as more mainstream credits on her IMDB page, expressed her disappointment on Twitter.

“Extremely disappointed the #TedCruz campaign pulled the national television spot I had a role in…,” Lindsay wrote. “@CNN @Foxnews #moretocome #myvotecounts.”
