Taylor Swift’s Back In The Recording Studio As ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ Tops Charts

Taylor Swift has topped the charts again, this time with the same album that first reached No. 1 on the charts 12 years ago.

Earlier this month Swift released Fearless (Taylor’s Version), a re-recorded version of her second studio album featuring six songs from the “vault.” The original version of the album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, the new version of the album just back Swift’s ninth album to top those same charts.

Billboard has also reported that Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is the only re-recorded album to ever reach No. 1. She also became the first women to have three No. 1 albums in a single year with Folklore, Evermore and Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

While Swift is thankful for the album receiving this milestone, Swift revealed that she is already back in the recording studio working on the next re-recordings of her first five albums after she was granted the go ahead in November 2020.

“Been in the studio all day recording the next one,” she tweeted. “It’s really so amazing what you all have done here.”

Swift recently opened up about how she wanted to keep the same feel of the original 2008 album in the re-recordings.

“In terms of production, I really wanted to stay very loyal to the initial melodies that I had thought of for these songs,” she told People. “And so we really did go in and try to create a ‘the same but better’ version. We kept all the parts that I initially dreamed up for these songs. But if there was any way that we could improve upon the sonic quality, we did.”

She continued, “We just kind of took all the knowledge that we’ve acquired over decades of playing this music and applied that to it. But yeah, I did go in line by line and listen to every single vocal and think, you know, what are my inflections here. If I can improve upon it, I did. But I really did want this to be very true to what I initially thought of and what I had initially written. But better. Obviously.”

Now fans need to patiently wait to see which of Swift’s albums – her self-titled debut, Speak NowRed or 1989 – will hit shelves first!
