Taylor Swift had two back-to-back emotional nights while in Atlanta for her Eras Tour after fans at two different stadiums brought her to tears during her Friday and Saturday night performances.
On Friday night, Swift was performing “Champagne Problems,” a song she wrote with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn about a failed relationship, when fans came together to light up the stadium using their cell phone lights. Swift was noticeably caught off guard and became emotional at the sight of the tens of thousands of spontaneous lights shining toward her.

“I don’t even know what to say. I love you so much. That was beautiful,” a teary-eyed Swift said in disbelief to the Atlanta crowd. “Who organized that? Did you guys just do that? What was the plan? That was so beautiful. Thank you. God, I love you. I’m out. That was really cool.”
Swifties did not stop there, with a presumably different set of 80,000 attendees recreating the sea of cellphone lights on Saturday night. This time, however, the emotional sight was formed during Swift’s performance of “Marjorie,” which reflects on Swift’s memories of her grandmother. The Atlanta crowd once again made Swift tear up as she performed the song.
“How could you go and do that to me?” an emotionally overwhelmed Swift asked the crowd. “It was a song about my grandmother who passed away. I just completely… Like my knees went weak, genuinely. Like, that physically, I physically felt that. It was so beautiful of you to do that,” she said, laughing and crying.
Swift’s next Eras Tour performance will be at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 6.
