One month after the announcement of Taylor Swift’s split from her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn, she and Matty Healy, lead singer of The 1975, were spotted holding hands.

Swift and Healy first met in 2014 but when asked about their meeting then, Healy said it was just a “flirtation.”

“What am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She’s a sensation, I wouldn’t say no,” the 34-year-old singer told E! News.

Healy has been caught watching Swift on her Eras Tour various times before pictures of them holding hands circulated the internet.

Many of Swift’s fans, called “Swifties,” are distancing themselves from the “Bad Blood” singer because of Healy’s past actions as well as racist and fatphobic comments.

The 1975 frontman was heard in a February 2023 podcast with Adam Friedman, talking and laughing about watching Ghetto Gaggers, a racist and misogynistic pornographic website that abuses and sexually humiliates women of color.

In another instance, he called rapper Ice Spice an “Inuit Spice girl” and a “chubby Chinese lady.”

Alwyn, on the other hand, is reported to feel distraught about Swift’s relationship with Healy, after Swift claimed she and Healy were just “friends.”

Swift joined The 1975 at their concert at the beginning of the year, surprising many fans. She sang her song “Anti-Hero” as well as a cover of The 1975’s “The City.”

The multiple-Grammies winner has not commented yet regarding Healy or their relationship.
