Taylor Swift's Grammys 2016 Look Got Mixed Reviews From Fashion Police
After much anticipation, Taylor Swift released a brand new single “Me,” her first since the release of Reputation.
The long-anticipated single came out with a music video, which features Brendon Urie from Panic! At the Disco. “Me” is a vibrant song about individuality and accepting yourself, and is a shocking transformation for Swift.
The first scene in the music video shows a hissing snake slithering on the pavement, which then explodes bursting into multiple butterflies.
This is a reference to the Kardashians calling Swift a snake on social media. Swift embraced the moniker during her Reputation-era, but has subsequently moved passed it, and has been “reborn.”
The next scene depicts Swift and Urie having a heated argument in French. Swift chastises him and leaves the apartment, and the song begins when she says, “I promise that you’ll never find another like me.”
The rest of the video feels like a fusion between Mary Poppins and The Wizard of Oz. It’s a colorful and often imaginative video that shows what it really means to accept yourself.
