Taylor Swift, 33, seems to have made a new friend in Ice Spice, 23. The singing sensation recently announced that they will be working together for a remix of her song “Karma.”
“Um. SO much to tell you. I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch,” Swift wrote in her announcement post.
Ice Spice made her announcement of the collaboration on Instagram, “Karma ft me🪐😍tmm night🥳💕💕💕thxx @taylorswift for being the coolest person on earth ilu💜.”
However, some fans seemed disappointed with the rapper’s association with Swift, reminding her about the comments Matty Healy, who Swift has been recently romantically linked with, made about her.
“Especially after what her man said about you? come on sis,” one fan commented.
“Wasn’t her boyfriend just being racist to ice calling her a chunky Chinese lady and laughing at her??? This seems weird,” another said.
Few fans came to the music artists’ defense, with one asking, “When did Taylor become the men she chooses to include in her life?”
Another suggested that the collaboration was a PR stunt, “Have y’all considered that Ice Spice, Matty Healy, and Taylor Swift are all just in a PR agreement together?”
In addition to the new remix, the multi-Grammy winner also announced a new version of “Snow on the Beach,” promising fans more of Lana Del Rey’s voice.
Swift is currently on her Eras Tour and recently performed a 3.5-hour show in the rain.
