Taylor Swift Gives Sophie Turner The Keys to Her New York City Apartment During Custody Battle

Between a messy divorce and a lengthy custody battle, it seems like Sophie Turner has found a friend in Taylor Swift.

Recently, the pair have been seen hanging out together multiple times, eating out in restaurants, and hitting bars around New York.

Turner has been leaning on Swift for support amidst her separation from Joe Jonas, and the two have become quite close.

After wrapping up filming for her new show, Joan, Sophie returned to New York, where she hoped to reunite with her kids and bring them back to England.

Upon arriving, the former couple entered a very public dispute over where their kids would reside until the divorce was settled. Jonas allegedly even hid their passports to prevent Turner from taking them back to the U.K.

Turner was seen hanging out with the singer only hours after filing a “wrongful retention” lawsuit against Jonas.

That was their second outing in only a week, and they have seen more of each other since.

To stay close to her children, the actress stayed at the St. Regis Hotel in New York. She was seen hanging out with multiple friends, including Swift.

When the ex-couple agreed that the children would stay in New York until everything was settled and the legal battle was over, it was clear that Turner would stay longer than intended.

She kept her room at the hotel until recently when Swift gave her the keys to her apartment in Tribeca, which she had as an investment property.

On September 27, Turner was seen hauling two large suitcases and waving goodbye to her children from her new apartment.

There is still a long journey ahead for the former couple – they have entered a lengthy legal battle that involves three separate jurisdictions and two nation’s legal systems.
