Singer Gracie Abrams revealed her good friend, Taylor Swift, extinguished a fire in her $50 million New York City apartment after a candle fell over during a dinner party.

“She was such a legend – I don’t know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do,” Abrams told Billboard.

The singer said she enjoyed the dinner and cocktails at Swift’s Tribeca loft six months ago. During the gathering, both women heard a candle falling over, though Swift assured Abrams that it was one of her cats jumping around her home.

The following morning, they realized the kitchen had been set on fire, leading Swift to take the lead in extinguishing the fire.

“We both had an insane cough from the fire extinguisher fumes for weeks,” Abrams said.

It was during that dinner party that the two singer-songwriters finished co-writing “Us.”, which is part of Abrams’ The Secret of Us album that dropped on Friday.

“Something caught our ear at the same time very hard and fast,” Abrams said, noting they had been listening to instrumentals created by Aaron Dessner at the time. “So we ran to the piano and started writing this song… I used to fantasize about that kind of thing as a kid.”

Abrams was one of the opening acts on the first leg of Swift’s Eras Tour in 223. She was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy’s earlier this year and will return to Eras for the final U.S. shows later this year.

Shift recently posed for Prince William and his kids at her London concert.
