Taylor Swift debuted the newest song off her latest album last weekend on SNL. She performed “False God” and showcased an acoustic rendition of her song “Lover” for the audience.

Days earlier, Swift appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to tease the episode.

Swift said that she had to “be a little cryptic just ‘cause it’s fun” when asked whether she would be able to reveal exactly what she would be singing. “I’ll do ‘Lover,’ but in a way I haven’t performed it before and then I’ll do a song that I have never performed at all live,” she added.

Following the live performance, Swift enthusiastically took to social media to share about her experience.

“Had the best time playing Lover on SNL exactly the way I wrote it, on piano in a quiet moment,” she wrote alongside a promotional photo of herself from the iconic sketch series. “And a huge thank you to Lenny Pickett for playing with us on False God !!”

Swift also gave a shout-out to actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who hosted the episode, and SNL photographer Mary Ellen Matthews before urging her followers to tune and watch pal Camila Cabello as this week’s musical guest (for the upcoming Oct. 12 episode).

Last month, Swift revealed her plan to take her latest album on the road in the summer of 2020 with a series of shows at European music festivals — and a four-date self-created festival in the U.S/.dubbed, appropriately, Lover Fest.

East Coast dates are listed on July 31 and Aug. 1 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts and the West Coast shows will take place on July 25 and 26 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.

Taylor is also scheduled to perform at 97.1 AMP Radio’s We Can Survive in Los Angeles on Oct. 19, Z100’s Jingle Ball in December.
