Swift stopped by Max Singer and Kenya Smith‘s wedding Saturday, much to the surprise of the couple. Swift had received a letter from Max’s sister Ali, who explained that Max – a longtime fan of the singer – had danced with his mother to “Blank Space” for their official mother-son dance that took place in a hospital before her death. He had legally married Kenya in the hospital room so that his mother could be present.
At their wedding celebration on Saturday, Swift performed “Blank Space” with just a microphone and a keyboard. The pop star also presented Max and Kenya with a hand-painted, homemade gift, which featured a floral circle, a lyric from “Blank Space,” the date of the wedding and the names of the newlyweds.
On Instagram, Swift shared a pair of snaps from the event. “Congratulations Max and Kenya!!” she captioned one picture.
“Third wheel,” the recently single singer captioned another picture with the married couple.
