Taylor Swift doesn't need a whole lot of hoopla on her big day.
The country-singing sensation turned 21 years old on Monday, but spent the night in with her family and friends in Tennessee. "I love having a Christmas-themed birthday party so people can give each other presents at my birthday party, so it's not so much a spotlight [on my] birthday," she told Nashville's WSIX Radio. "I didn't want it to be a crazy club thing. I just want it to be very me, and the me thing to do would be to have a Christmas birthday party."
The night before the big day was even more low key. Swift tweeted that she spent it "dancing around my room alone to @pink's greatest hits cd."
Though Swift has recently been romantically linked to Jake Gyllenhaal, who will celebrate his 30th birthday on Sunday, he was away in L.A. during her party. —KIMBERLY STEELE
