Christmas is coming two weeks early for Taylor Swift fans.
Fresh off the heels of a whopping six Grammy nominations, The singer announced via social media on Thursday that she is dropping her ninth studio album.
“I’m elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore‘s sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern,” she tweeted. “It’s called evermore.”
Her album Folklore was released earlier this year and achieved both critical and commercial success. The singer is coming back with 15 new tracks, plus two bonus tracks on the physical editions of the album.
“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” Swift wrote on her Twitter and Instagram. “To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.”
The singer went on to explain why she chose to continue the Folklore era and aesthetic with Evermore. “There was something different with folklore,” she wrote. “I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them.”

Frequent musical partners Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, Justin Vernon and William Bowery (a pseudonym for Swift’s boyfriend, Joe Alwyn) worked with the singer on this new album. The tracklist also features appearances by Haim, The National (Dessner’s band) and Bon Iver.
Evermore drops at midnight EST on Dec. 11 along with a music video for the album’s first single “Willow.”
